We invite you to learn more about our team!
“Happiness is making new friends but the utmost happiness is powering down the river in unison with those new friends. It is an exhilarating feeling to dig deep within and find the strength that you didn't know you had.”
About Us
Paradise City Dragon Boat is a racing team where athletes come together to build strength of body and spirit through the exhilarating sport of dragon boating. Fueled by joy, camaraderie, and the rhythm of many paddles moving as one, we train and compete as teammates while supporting each other on and off the water.
We train May through September on the Connecticut River, and spend the winter indoors building strength and endurance in a gym environment.
Survivors & Supporters
Dragon boating is a powerful, low-impact sport that supports strength, mobility, and wellness for people of all ages and abilities. As a team of cancer survivors and supporters, we paddle together not only for the physical benefits of the sport, but also for the encouragement, resilience, and community we build as a team.
We are proud to be able to field strong racing crews in both the BCP (Breast Cancer Paddler) and ACP (All Cancer Paddler) divisions.
Competition
Race participation brings our training and teamwork to life on the water. We compete to challenge ourselves, test our limits, and experience the adrenaline and excitement of racing against athletes from near and far.
Dragon boat festivals are vibrant events that combine the thrill of competition with celebrations of the rich Asian cultural traditions and history from which the sport originates.
We welcome you to join us at a festival!
