Waves of Inspiration Benefit Concert

Justina Golden has gathered some of our area’s finest groups of singers and players to present “Waves of Inspiration,” an afternoon of enchanting live music. This heart-centered program offers a medley of different styles and genres, from contemporary folk and early music to jazz and classical pieces for strings and voices. This is a fundraiser to help fund the healing and joy that the Paradise City Dragon Boat team gains from participating in this sport.

Featured Performers

Justina Golden

Justina Golden is a professional singer who enjoys performing contemporary folk music, early music, Celtic, jazz and classical music. Earlier in her career, she toured the country in a singer/songwriting duo for 12 years and released three albums. She has been singing, writing music, conducting and giving voice lessons in the Pioneer Valley since 1986, including teaching at the Profound Sound Voice Studio in Florence, the Northampton Community Music Center, Smith College and at music festivals all over the country.


The Trytones

An eight-member all women’s singing group, The Trytones explore music from contemporary classical to jazz, folk to early music. Based in Florence, the group is accompanied by pianist Lauren Bell and directed by Justina Golden.

Green Street Brew

Green Street Brew has been part of the Pioneer Valley’s vibrant a cappella scene for nearly 30 years. Their repertoire encompasses a contemporary mix of jazz, swing, pop, folk and blues. Directed by Todd Fruth, the Brew singers have a wide array of vocal and instrumental backgrounds which lends vibrancy and versatility to the ensemble’s sound. They are the creators of the popular Local Vocal Chord Bowl which they host annually.

Cantabile

Cantabile Vocal Ensemble is a self-directed ensemble of six singers based in the Pioneer Valley. They specialize in a cappella performances of vocal chamber music from the European Renaissance of the 15th through 17th centuries. Their forays into other repertoire have ranged from Hildegard to the Great American Songbook. Cantabile’s current members, who have sung professionally or semi-professionally with other area groups, include a nonprofit fundraiser, a psychologist, a retired librarian, a farmer and research engineer, and two teachers.

Charlotte Malin Collins

Charlotte Malin Collins creates sumptuous songs for strings and voice. A versatile musician with a unique range spanning classical violin and viola, singing, songwriting, and improvised live-looping, Charlotte performs internationally, including in a string quartet with violinist Midori. She is the viola instructor at Amherst College. Her new album, “Welcome Home,” will be released on Sept. 9, 2025.
